Mission Statement

The Kentucky Recreation and Park Society was organized in 1953 as a non-profit professional association for Kentucky’s parks and recreation professionals. The Society is affiliate member of the National Recreation and Park Association, headquartered in Ashburn, VA.  KRPS offers a variety of workshops and networking opportunities for government professionals with an emphasis on parks, sports and recreation, aquatics, playgrounds, leadership, sports fields and parks maintenance.

The Kentucky Recreation and Park Society (KRPS) advances the parks and recreation profession across the Commonwealth by empowering professionals, agencies, and partners through education, advocacy, and collaboration. We champion sustainable and innovative practices that strengthen our communities, enrich lives, and ensure that every Kentuckian benefits from high-quality parks, recreation, and play.
