FALL COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
1. A CPSI, or Certified Playground Safety Inspector, is a professional trained by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to identify and manage playground hazards, ensuring playgrounds meet safety standards and guidelines.
2. An Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), certified by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), is responsible for ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of public aquatic facilities like pools, water parks, and spray parks, requiring expertise in water chemistry, disinfection, mechanical systems, and safety protocols.
- CPSI & AFO REGISTRATION will be available in November of 2025 for Spring 2026 Classes. A wait list will be enforced after 1/15/26 to ensure supplies are available for registrants.
3. Pesticide Certifications & Exam - Fall 2025 Classes
(Tuesday, November 11, 2025) - training for new employees and testing-Registration available after July 10, 2025

- Step 1- CLASSROOM REGISTRATION (November 11, 2025 8am-2pm) $110-
- Register below through this portal to be registered for Classroom Instruction -$110.

- Step 2- KDA Exam- The Kentucky Pesticide Certification exam will be given immediately after the training on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at approx. 2:00 pm. - $52. (12 CEU's given for passing the exam.)
- **Pesticide Testing must be paid for separately to KDA; $52.00 test fee due online or on-site; You must pre-register online with KDA in order to take the test- see steps below **
- EXAM REGISTRATION - Register with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and you can now pay online for the exam before the Conference. Follow the link and register as an applicator if you have not already or login. Then select "Register for a Written Test" and 11/11/25 2:00PM-Special None for location. Then select the test Category. For Turf, Lawn and Ornamental, select one of the following: A3 for Applicator, O3 for Operator or N3 for non-commercial.
- PRE PAY EXAM -You may prepay the $52.00 exam fee online or click the box to bring a check/money order to the exam site.
- Payment for Onsite Exam is paid to KY Department of Agriculture.
- Bring check for exact amount for the exam if not paid through the link above.
- Notes: Pesticide training for new employees and testing.The Kentucky Pesticide Certification exam will be given immediately after the classroom training on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at approx. 2:00 pm.
