The Kentucky Recreation and Parks Society will be hosting a CPSI & AFO Course in at General Butler State Park prior to the KRPS Conference and Trade show which begins the evening of 11/11/25.

An Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), certified by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), is responsible for ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of public aquatic facilities like pools, water parks, and spray parks, requiring expertise in water chemistry, disinfection, mechanical systems, and safety protocols. This class is scheduled for Monday, November 10^th & 11^th.

A CPSI, or Certified Playground Safety Inspector, is a professional trained by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to identify and manage playground hazards, ensuring playgrounds meet safety standards and guidelines. This course is currently scheduled for Sunday, Nov 9^th - 11^th. Tests for both of these certifications will be held on Tuesday, November 11^th. Registration will be available 4/14/25 for the Certified Playground Safety Inspector and the Aquatic Facility Inspector Courses. A wait list will be enforced after 9/05/25 to ensure supplies are available for registrants.
