Administrative Specialist & Recreation Rentals Manager

1. Posted 7/18/24 - The Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking to fill a Recreation Specialist, Senior, position based in the Parks’ Recreation section.
 
The position serves as the theater technical supervisor for cultural arts and events, and is based at Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center. This position also serves events outdoors in parks and at Moondance Amphitheater.

2. Posted 7/18/24- The Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking to fill our Staff Assistant Sr position based in Parks’ Enterprise section.
 
The position manages purchasing and receiving for Golf and Aquatics, oversees deposit reconciliation, monthly fee reports, and various other administrative duties. This position also serves as receptionist at Parks' Administrative Offices at Picadome.

1. Administrative Specialist Principal position- Deadline July 8 

The position will oversee administrative management of the parks operational and capital budgets and human resource functions.  The position will oversee revenue operations such as point of sale systems and inventories, insuring audit compliance.  The position will also capture data analytics for survey metrics and accreditation.

SALARY

 
The minimum salary is $55,363.36 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to manage and oversee recreation activities and personnel for a single large program area.
 
This position manages park rental facilities. Facilities include indoor, outdoor, and athletic fields. This position also coordinates contracts with city partners, individuals and third party businesses including creating contracts, collecting payments and managing the terms of the contract.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job
  • Four (4) years of related experience, one (1) year of which must have been at a management or supervisory level
  • Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
  • Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
  • There are no substitutes for the required supervisory/management experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops, coordinates, manages, and promotes the activities and events associated with a major program area such as therapeutic recreation, arts, equestrian, athletics and community engagement
  • Interviews, hires, trains, schedules and supervises staff
  • Manages and oversees facilities and other resources for program area
  • Performs administrative duties related to goals, objectives and performance including but not limited to budgeting, purchasing, payroll, data entry, reporting, and grant writing
  • Represents LFUCG, the division and/or their program at various internal and external meetings
    and public functions and events
  • Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

  • Valid Driver's License
  • First Aid and CPR/AED Certification must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment
    and maintained as a condition of continued employment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work flexible hours and/or weekends, holidays, perform on-call duty, and split shifts when required.
